QUEBEC DIGITAL CONTENT EXCELLENCE AWARD
After receiving a record number of applications with more than 230 entries, the NUMIX AWARDS team announced the names of the 65 finalists tonight during an event at Phi Centre as part of Mutek_Img. The 9th edition of the gala will take place on May 17 at the M Telus, this year’s new venue, which will be able to welcome more spectators. Rewarding the excellence of Quebec digital content, this contest represents the most important annual gathering of the industry in Quebec.
The 2018 NUMIX AWARDS Gala will give away 23 awards divided into 5 major categories. To analyse the entries, 11 committees were formed, each featuring 3 professionals from the industry with complementary expertise. The 33-member jury was presided over by Monique Simard, the former President and Chief Executive Officer of the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC).

The awards ceremony will be hosted by comedian Simon Gouache. Uniquely comfortable on stage and armed with a keen sense of humor, Simon is a well-rounded, relatable comedian who will undoubtedly enliven the gala.
The jury of this 9th edition will be presided by Monique Simard, former president and chief executive officer of the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC). Producer and vice president of Productions Virage from 1998 to 2008, she was also a board member of the Association des producteurs de films et de télévision du Québec and of the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal, and she held the position of director of the French Program of the National Film Board of Canada (NFB). With this wealth of experience, Mrs. Simard will undoubtedly be able to use her vast knowledge of the industry while serving on the jury. As for the different juries, they will include members from the cultural sector and from the digital industry.
